A turkey fan is the most alluring “call” you can use. Safety must always be a priority, yet if you can hunt where you have open fields or prairie and there are no other hunters around, the results can be magical. I’ll be hunting in South Dakota in early April and it won’t matter if there is an early spring, late spring, snow on the ground, or heavy hunting pressure. My primary tactic will be to sneak within 100 yards of a gobbler and pop up a turkey fan.
