Boots are important gear for deer hunting and other outdoor sports, yet specific footwear for spring gobblers doesn’t get much attention. That’s ironic, because turkey hunting is often done in wet, swampy conditions where an average pair of deer hunting boots quickly becomes soaked or covered in mud. In addition, many hunters are snake-sensitive and the right boot can make you feel more comfortable even if you’ve never seen a snake while turkey hunting.

My favorite boot is the Irish Setter Rutmaster Lightweight (shown above) and although the name alludes to deer hunting, the boots fit like sneakers, are totally waterproof, have great camouflage, and most importantly come off easily (no winch required). The key is the flexible heel which provides a snug fit yet releases pressure to remove the boot.

This 17″ pull-on knee boot (style #2876) is offered in Realtree Xtra Green camo. Here are the details from Irish Setter for a great turkey hunting boot.
