My first Millennium ladder stand was purchased so that my grandson and I could hunt together. It worked exactly as I envisioned and allowed us to watch for approaching deer. I coached him through that very special opening day.

Ironically, I returned to that double ladder and quickly found that I loved the extra room. I could bring a pack of food, extra calls, binoculars, and a hot Thermos of coffee on really cold days.

Ladder stands are becoming increasingly popular for the above reasons, yet they can be difficult to set up, particularly if you use a longer ladder.

This video shows the safety steps needed to get the job done well. Even with deer season two months away, it’s not too early to begin preparing.
