Griffin’s Guide’s own Joe Byers won first place in the Conservation category at the annual convention of the Mason-Dixon Outdoor Writers Association. The Talbot Denmead Memorial Award, which honors the finest writing on conservation and/or the environment, was presented to Byers for his article “Quality Plains Game Management” from Whitetails Unlimited.

Joe, who has contributed hundreds of compelling articles for Griffin’s Guide, is a seasoned pro who has hunted for decades. He’s published books on the subject and showcases some of his work on his own website, Joe Byers Outdoors. Joe has been a longtime proponent for conservation and ethical hunting, and has written reams of pages on the subject. We’re honored to have Joe on our staff and congratulate him on this well-deserved honor.
