Each fall, Maryland (and other states) offer Becoming an Outdoor Woman (BOW), a program in which women 18 years and older can learn a host of outdoor skills over a long weekend. If you’ve always wanted to shoot a bow and arrow, fly fish, bird watch, hunt deer, and take part in a host of other outdoor activities, here’s the place to learn. Fall is the best time of year to be outdoors, and BOW is your concert ticket with a front-row seat.

“Becoming an Outdoors-Woman” (BOW) offers outdoor skills workshops specifically for women 18 years of age and older, although men are welcome to participate. The workshops enable women to learn about a wide variety of outdoor recreational opportunities in a casual, non-threatening environment. The classes are designed to be as as hands-on as possible, giving participants enough knowledge to further pursue their interests once the workshop is over. Here’s a quick video overview.”
