Quality bolt-action rifles are becoming increasingly popular and Nosler has pulled out all of the stops with this new M48 offering.  Cabela’s is posting a “gun of the week” video and there’s little doubt that the Nosler M48 would make the list.  Built for rugged performance with handsome style, the rifle quickly becomes the focal point of any firearm gathering.  Here are just a few of its features:

Removable Muzzle Break

The muzzle break on the M48 is an important addition for several reasons.  First, it allows the shooter to adapt recoil to the caliber selected for the rifle.  In the case of light-punching 6.5 Creedmoor, the break can easily be removed and the protective thread cap installed.  For more powerful rounds such as the .300 Win Mag and .33 Nosler, the break will reduce recoil significantly.  Best of all, the removable nature allows for the easy installation of a suppressor which will both reduce recoil and muzzle blast.

Stainless Match-Grade Helical Fluted Barrel

“Wow!” is probably the first reaction at seeing the helical fluting of the barrel, yet the unique silhouette reduced half a pound from the weight of the barrel.  The stainless steel barrel with the fluted look and a 1-inch MOA guarantee will have an “impact” in more ways than one.

Timney Trigger

A quality trigger is one of the most important elements of an accurate rifle.  Long range shooters absolutely worship a crisp trigger with no travel.  Hunters know the importance of zoning-in on a game animal and have conditioned their reflexes to squeeze at the precise moment.  Feeling the trigger move without firing can kill shot timing and accuracy.  Timney is the first word in quality, custom triggers.

Cerakote Finish

All external metal surfaces are coated with the NIC Industries Cerakote™ finish. Designed to protect against rust and wear, Cerakote™ products can withstand tremendous impact with no coating loss, and can resist corrosion in a variety of tough conditions. A textured finish ensures proper grip in cold or wet weather.
