Scent-elimination sprays were born from pet poo and pee (gross).  A hunting entrepreneur reasoned, if a spray will kill the huge smell that pets create, why won’t it eliminate human odors?  Thanks to that reasoning, a hunting industry was born to combat human odor.

ElimiShield

ElimiShield uses chemicals from the medical industry to destroy human odor causing bacteria.

Today, a similar occurrence has developed from the medical industry.  If you work in a hospital or nursing home, you know the importance of bacteria control and “ElimiShield” has adapted one of the deadliest chemicals known to kill bacteria.  Tommy Lancaster, Chief Operating Officer for Elimishield provided a personal interview in which he explained how this new technology can help hunters.  “Hunt Core Body Foam is the first FDA approved bacteria killing foam approved for body contact,” he said.  “It’s like hand sanitizer, but alcohol free.”  Additionally, Lancaster explained that the foam kills germs on contact and will last for hours on your skin.  “It kills 99.9 percent of odor causing bacteria including C-Diff (acronym for Clostridium Difficile) a bug that can ravish a nursing home and cause death.  ElimiShield is a terrific option for hunters because they can put this bacteria fighting foam to use by showering with it prior to hunting and the protection lasts all day.

Take the Sock Test

Lancaster may have been pulling-my-leg, but he suggested that I try a test like one conducted by a friend.  This man always had a problem with smelly feet, so he sprayed one foot with ElimiShield foam and simply washed the other.  After two days of wearing the socks in outdoor conditions, he smelled each sock and was convinced.  You may want to conduct your own research or have fun with your friends in this interesting experiment.

Sprays as Well

The Elimishield line includes other products which don’t touch the skin.  For the ultimate hunter protection against human odor, a three step process is recommended.

  1. Shower with Elimishield Hunt Core Body Foam.
  2. Wash you clothing in Elimishield laundry detergent
  3. Spray gear with Elimishield to cover gows, packs, safety harness and others.

The sprays also eliminates mold and mildew so that you can pretreat rain gear, ground blinds, and other fabrics that will likely get wet and have to be put in storage.

Look for the Elimishield brand as you consider purchasing gear for the coming season.  A medical application to human odor is one that makes sense.  I carried a can of foam at the ATA Show and shared it with friends.  Since I shook hands most of the day, I was confident I wasn’t sharing germs and if I received them, the spray would kill bacteria on contact.  elimishieldhunt.com/
