“Take a child hunting” should be on every sportsman’s bucket list. It doesn’t mean that children need to shoot an animal or even carry a gun or bow, but sample the excitement of sharing the outdoors. You are about to meet one of the coolest 7-year-olds in the country. I had the good fortune to spend a few days hunting with Hatty and her dad, and I was totally amazed at this gal’s attitude, determination, and grit.
You will see snow in this video, but you can’t sample the bone-chilling winds that dropped temperatures below zero on the South Dakota plains. This young girl got up early, accompanied us on hunts, and otherwise showed enthusiasm worthy of the most adventurous hunter. She didn’t carry a gun or bow, yet her presence and enthusiasm were personally motivating. Her father played a prime role in nurturing such a positive attitude which should be an example to us all.
