Rick Carone, a father of two, avid hunter, and former White Sox minor league catcher, has stage IV pancreatic cancer. Willie Roberson, Bill Jordan, Tiffany Lakosky, and a host of outdoor celebrities step up to the plate to support him and cancer research in this powerful video:

willie-robertson-duck-dynasty[1]A community of family, friends, outdoor industry talent, and supporters has rallied around the 42-year-old Cary, offering their support, positive thoughts, and prayer. They make up Team Carone, which urges support for Carone and a cure for cancer by attending or donating to “Cary for Carone,” a 21-and-over celebration benefiting Rick Carone and his daughters to help shut down cancer. It will be a Pig Roast and “Rick Roast,” including live music from Brushville (who have shared the stage with such country megastars as Keith Urban, Brad Paisley, and Lady Antebellum). There will also be live and silent auctions including trips and signed gear and memorabilia from the outdoors, music, and sports industries.

Sponsors for the event include: Buck Commander Protected by Under Armour, HardthCAFQAL03 Core Brands, Michael Waddell’s Bone Collector, Under Armour, Synergy Outdoors, Evolved Habitats and Evolved Harvest, Wildgame Innovations, Flextone Game Calls, Barnett Crosbows, Ameristep, Beretta USA, Easton Sports, Sunburst Shutters, and Yumz Gourmet Frozen Yogurt.

All net proceeds will be distributed to the Carone Family Trust, which is set up to pay for  any medical costs that are not covered by Rick’s medical insurance. Any funds remaining after Rick is cancer-free and his medical bills retired will be used to benefit Rick’s daughters, Karsyn (16) and Tyler (13). The Trust will use the funds to defray their college costs up until the age of 23. The hope is that his daughters will not be disadvantaged because Rick’s medical situation is negatively impacting his ability to provide for them and prepare financially for their college years.
