Amanda Payne of Deer Recipes always has great recipes that deer hunters can use to enjoy their harvest. Recently, she posted a recipe on her blog for Venison Queso.  I tried it last night, and wanted to share this delicious recipe with you.

Venison Queso–Crumbled venison sausage mixed with salsa and cheese and scooped up with a Tostitos Tortilla Chip. This is heavenly deliciousness!

I got this recipe from my friend Jerry Doris. I had made queso before but never with meat. If you like queso you’ll love it with venison. So far, I have tried it with pork sausage, venison sausage, and ground venison burger with a little chili powder added in and I love it all, but I guess my favorite would be with sausage.

This recipe makes a very large batch that will serve at least 12 people, but you can cut it down if needed. With this amount, it would be great for get-togethers or parties but I usually make it on a normal regular day because I have two big strong sons and husband that gobble it up pretty quick. They like to take some to work for lunch plus eat it for a snack whenever they like. It is really good for breakfast too. It usually only lasts a couple of days around here though. [Continued]
