Wild turkeys seem black in color at a distance, but up close show magnificent color.

From a distance a wild turkey seems visually uninspiring appearing to be mostly black in color.  However, up close, they sport a myriad of earth-tone colors that can be breathtaking.  I just returned from the Great American Outdoor Show in Harrisburg Pennsylvania where I saw the most spectacular mounted turkey I’ve seen.  Some mistake the Oscillated turkey of Central America with a small peacock, yet any of our native species can be beautiful when mounted and presented in close display.
