The lackadaisical Bucks of October are a distant memory. November has arrived with the first big cold fronts of fall sweeping across whitetail country bringing with it some wiffs of estrouse. Bucks are beginning to cover ground looking for the first available does in the area and harrasing any doe bedding areas. Now is the time that chasing and seeking is highest and some of the best hunting. This week we are going to bump the Rut Meter up to 55%. Encounters of mature bucks have steadily been climbing with every hour via hunter sightings and cell cam data. Cameras are working over time with valuable information of satellite bucks cruising and where deer have been most active. Hunting food is key as the focus should be hunting the doe bedding areas and destination feeding areas to put your optics on a shooter buck. A chase can break out any time the next few days and the magic 10 to 2 sits are becoming very productive. The Best is yet to come but spending as much time in the whitetail woods begins now.
